I will be away from clinic from 01-Apr-2020 to 15-Apr-2020, during which time appointments and walk-in service will continue by colleagues in Seton Medical Clinic. Thank you for reading and take care.
Due to concerns that I have had about Facebook, I have decided to remove my practice’s Facebook page.
Even though my use of Facebook Business page is very limited, I no longer feel comfortable having any business relationship with Facebook. It is my hope that Facebook will improve its handling of private data.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Please be advised that I will be away from October 30 to November 15, 2018.
In my absence, my colleague and newest addition to Seton Medical Clinic, Dr. Josh Lam, has graciously agreed to provide coverage for my practice, to ensure continuity of care for my patients.
Please get in touch if you need to schedule any appointments.
Today I received a helpful email from Canadian Blood Services, reminding me to keep my contact information updated for OneMatch Canada, which prompted me again how important their services are.
I first signed up as a donor a few years ago after doing my rotation on hematology, where I learned that majority of registered donors in North America are from Caucasian backgrounds. As a result, many leukemia patients who are of different ethnicities end up dying from their cancer, due to lack of a matching stem cell donor. Unfortunately leukemia can affect patients of ANY age, including children, and many of these cancer patients I met were in the prime of their lives.
The process to sign up to be a donor was extremely simple, and if you are notified to be a match, you will become a cancer patient’s best chance of survival.
Here is more information on the process for signing up for OneMatch, I hope you will consider signing up today! https://blood.ca/en/stem-cell/onematch-information-new-registrants
As I reach one year anniversary at my current clinic, there has been a steady increase in wait times to see me. My goal is to ensure access to care in a timely manner for my current patients, and still be able to offer walk-in service. Therefore as of now, acceptance of new patients will be limited to contacts of existing patients.
Please note that I remain committed to providing quality family medicine services to my patients, and will continue to offer walk-in service to everyone whenever my schedule allows. You are also welcome to use the contact form on my website here to get in touch.
I will re-evaluate the above change as circumstances change as well, thanks very much for your understanding.
Happy December!
It is with great excitement that I announce my upcoming leave in January 2018 in expectation for the birth of our baby. My leave is currently planned for January 8 to 23, 2018.
My good friend and colleague, Dr. Judith Paget, has graciously agreed to provide locum coverage for my practice in January, to ensure continuity of care for my patients. Please kindly get in touch with my clinic if you need to schedule any appointments in advance for January.
I wish for a safe and healthy holiday season for all.
As someone who grew up in the digital age, I have grown accustomed to looking up reviews for any business or service that I was about to go to. I have come to rely on reviews when making decisions on where to spend my time and money.
Admittedly though, things are a little different when it comes to writing reviews for and responding to reviews as a doctor. For obvious patient confidentiality reasons, I am unable to clarify on review sites what may have went wrong, or to learn for myself who it was that had the bad experience so that I could rectify the situation.
I will not go into too much here other than to share the negative review, and hope that moving forward I can do better. After all, I believe the only way for me to keep improving every day as a doctor is to welcome any and all feedback, and make changes as appropriate.
Below is a letter to my current patients. Unfortunately, I have decided to move my practice to a new location (Seton Medical Clinic), effective June 13, 2017. My current clinic at MyHealth will be working to inform all of my current patients directly as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding during this period as I transition to my new clinic location.

RE: Practice Move
Hello,
Thank you for placing your primary care needs in my family practice and the MyHealth clinic over the past year. As a new family doctor, I could not have asked for a better place to start my career than with the team at MyHealth.
Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond my control, I regret to inform you that I have decided to relocate my practice to Seton Medical Clinic in southeast Calgary, effective as of June 13, 2017.
This is an extremely difficult decision for me, and I did not make it lightly. Please know that I remain fully committed to providing family medicine services to my patients, and would be happy to meet with you in person to make the necessary arrangements so that your care is not interrupted.
Below is the address and location of my family practice as of June 13, 2017. I recognize that for my patients in NE Calgary, this location in the SE will be far. I would be glad to have you join me at my new clinic, otherwise I will leave you in the capable hands of Dr. Jerome Alonso and his team at MyHealth.

I will be away from March 27 to April 11, 2017 (inclusive). Every effort will be made to ensure continuity of care and coverage during my absence, and I thank you in advance for your understanding.
Please contact my office at 587-318-3320 if you require an appointment prior to my upcoming absence.
I am attending the Annual Scientific Assembly by Alberta College of Family Physicians this weekend. The conference is a wonderful experience for me to stay current on the latest medical research relevant to my work as a family doctor, as well as meet and learn from many amazing colleagues.
One aspect I love about the practice of medicine is the ability to constantly improve the care I provide, by learning new knowledge every single day. The love of learning was instilled in me from a young age, and I have no doubt that this will continue.
As a patient in my practice, you can expect that I will always be open to discussing new ideas, in addition to providing you with evidence based recommendations.
I started this website because I wanted a space for my patients to refer to, to help those people needing a family doctor in Calgary, and to start sharing my thoughts in a public form in this blog.
The content posted in this blog are meant as informational only, and are not meant to replace advice and consultation with a physician.
Thanks for being here. If you are looking for a family doctor in NE Calgary, please contact my office at 587-318-3320 or book an appointment online.
